Silver Award – Tiga Sanctuary

TLC’s Tiga Sanctuary project won a Silver Award for residential projects. Judges noted, “The before and after images are dramatic with this ambitious family “resort” design.”

Our clients desired a family sanctuary, a space that was intimate and lively with multiple rooms. The design goal for this multi-story residence was to create a sustainable landscape solution for the home’s expansive back yard, which would integrate outdoor use areas into intimate rooms and enhance the connection to the home through pathways, scale and sight lines. The design had to resolve the desired outdoor spaces with the steep slope and exposed nature of the site.

The final site successfully created a sanctuary of outdoor spaces, each designed to allow for the family to interact while in those spaces, while providing solutions for sustainability and transition to the native landscape behind the home. The final space is a delight to experience with mountain views and multiple outdoor rooms for entertaining.

Bronze Award – Urban Courtyard

TLC’s Urban Courtyard project won a Bronze Award for residential projects. Judges noted, “This is an inviting and functioning space with thoughtful design solutions creating a good rhythm between elements.”

Urban Courtyard was a creative, low budget project with integrated drainage solutions and custom aesthetic elements to enhance the value and enjoyment of the space. The scope of this project included finishing small area renovations to effectively integrate the garage and house lines, incorporated visual site lines from the homes interior, handled grade changes and flow patterns through the space and provided a solution for site drainage. The finished project resulted in a stunning transformation of this once problem area, providing sustainable integrated drainage with an upscale small entertainment space for both small parties and lounge area off the master bedroom for the adults.
